Grants

We give locally. We also hunt for digital help that others can use.

Community grants we pay out

The foundation’s historic purpose is to move investment income into the civic life of Shelburne Falls and Buckland. Public Form 990-PF summaries show regular grantmaking. Illustrative recent recipients include:

RecipientPurpose as reported
Shelburne-Buckland Community CenterCash and general support
Friends of Buckland Recreation Inc.Public recreation
Buckland Historical SocietyHistorical preservation

Amounts vary by year. In one recent filing year grants totaled $33,000; in the 2025 summary they totaled $62,000. These figures are offered as public context, not as a promise of future awards.

If you represent a local organization

Write to support@shelburnefallscommunityhouse.org with a short letter: who you are, what the money would do, and how the village would notice. There is no online portal yet. A letter still works here.

Digital grants we look for

A second desk now exists inside the same foundation. Its job is to find technology grants, discounted software, cloud credits, accessibility tools, and donation platforms that can be used by:

Target beneficiaries

Learners who need a licensed editor, a domain, a microphone, or a year of hosting in order to practice the skills we teach and to offer those skills for pay.

The organization itself

A small board with no staff should not spend operating dollars on tools that reputable companies already offer to nonprofits at no or low cost.

We will list live programs on the partners page only after an application is accepted. Until then, every mark is labeled “coming soon.”
